this morning was one of those days where my alarm went off at 4:45am and my body immediately was telling me NO. despite having all my stuff ready for this morning to go for a quick run before a 5:30am yoga class at lyonsdenpy my body was telling me to stay put and sleep the extra hour and a half. so after stubbornly good back and forth between what I felt I needed to do and what my body actually needed, I listened. over time, I’ve quickly learned the difference of being groggy and my body simply calling on me to rest. for me, someone who continuously attempts to keep moving, growing, and progressing, I often find myself unwilling to slowdown, to take the necessary rest my body needs to reboot. that very fact is part of my journey in nearly every facet of my life & slowly acknowledging that one day at a time 🙏🏼

Jumping in on Day 4 of #ProgressYourPractice with #lizardpose as this is one of my favourite poses. As I get more into yin yoga, I really love the yin variation of this - #dragonpose - holding it for an extended time and letting go is really a nice feeling. It was actually the first yin pose I did teach in a class yesterday and I will never forget the face expression of my students when I told them - and now we hold this for 3 minutes …. .
