Calf training 101 - Whenever you see someone doing calf raises on the ground by simply lifting their heels up and plopping down they are ignoring the portion of the lift that creates the gains. The eccentric portion tears the tissue and the deeper the stretch, the greater the muscle activation and more muscle damage can occur which leads to growth. Therefore doing calf raises on a flat surface without space to have a deep negative is minimizing the eccentric contraction and simultaneously asking to have forever small calves 🤗 Calves are also composed of mainly type I fibers (because you're engineered to walk) but my theory on calf training is not train them at a 25-15 rep range to hit the type I fibers, but at a 14-8 range to give the body a new stimulus it must adapt to. You're always walking so shock the calves with lower reps, hit the type II fibers, and your body will be forced to adapt and grow :). 1st photo is supplied by themusclephd and the remainders are supplied by the proud peanut butter eater who typed this 🤓 #exercisescience

One of the most beautiful pictures of the photoshoot with Lindy Bremer. When I saw this moment during her improvisation she made it look so easy, but arms, legs, body, head and expression are all so perfect in line that you known it takes talent and years and years of practice. #dance #dancer #dancing #dancerecital #dancers #workout #choreography #strong #flexible #flexibility #performing #Canon #Canon5Ds #CanonNederland #ballet #ballerinaproject #dancefloor #instaballet #studio
