For the last week I’ve been getting really really down on myself because , well food has a way to play with your head... 98 pounds between the two pictures and I’m stuck at a plateau (also vacation eating is no lie) but today I needed to step back and say “don’t let it consume your life in either way, “weight loss or weight gain” it’s who you are as a person that’s the most important. Focus there and the rest will come naturally, colleen. It’s ok to just be in constant slow moving progression it’s a marathon not a race and life can keep moving. A lot of people following my journey say “well how much do you weigh now?” is it bad that I’m still not comfortable saying it? Sneak more veggies into your meals. You can cut up small pieces of spinach and kale to add to pastas, casseroles and smoothies! Use either instead of lettuce on a sandwich and pick carrots as a snack.

I gave up many times before staying consistent but I always kept trying Nov 10 was the day I looked at myself in the mirror and knew it was time I was ready to make this change and I haven’t looked back ever since , 6days out the week...even on my sick days I’m at the gym 🏋🏻‍♀️! My name is Lexi and two years ago I set a New Years Resolution to lose weight. In two years I lost 312lbs on my own naturally. I didnt have the finances for any personal trainer, expensive meal plan. "Don't eat Saturated Fat" ⬇️⬇️ YOU'VE BEEN TOLD: Limit your saturated fat intake to below 20g a day. Eating a lot of saturated fat can increase the cholesterol in your blood. High levels of cholesterol can increase your risk of heart disease. Heart disease can kill you. 🧀 THE REALITY:  Back in the 20th century, there was a major epidemic of heart disease. It used to be a rare disease, but very quickly it skyrocketed and became the number one cause of death… which it still is. 👐 Researchers learned that eating saturated fat seemed to increase levels of cholesterol in the bloodstream. This was an important finding at the time, because they also knew that having high cholesterol was linked to an increased risk of heart disease. 🍳 This led to the following assumption being made: 🙄 If saturated fat raises cholesterol (A causes B) and cholesterol causes heart disease (B causes C), then this must mean that saturated fat causes heart disease (A causes C). 😢 However, at the time, this was not based on any experimental evidence in humans. 🙄 This hypothesis (called the “diet-heart hypothesis”) was based on assumptions, observational data and animal studies. The diet-heart hypothesis then turned into public policy before it was ever proven to be true. 👍 Even though we now have plenty of experimental data in humans showing these initial assumptions to be wrong, people are still being told to avoid saturated fat in order to reduce heart disease risk. 💪 So you do NOT need to avoid the fat on meat or butter etc. Just ensure its intake is within your calorie limits. But remember that your hormonal system needs saturated fat to work properly and you need the hormonal system to work to help you lose fat.
