• ALGO SOBRE MI • Puede ser fobia, puede ser trauma, no lo sé. Lo que si sé es que no lo aguanto. Esas rejillas del fondo de las piscinas, tan simples y silenciosas. Pues de pequeña se me engancharon los dedos de los pies en una de ellas, desde entonces que siento pavor de acercarme a ellas, ni nadar por encima aunque haya varios metros, ni rodeándola, nada. Cuando iba a natación era tanto el pavor, que me pasaron a otra parte de la piscina sola con un profesor solo para mi. O medo muitas vezes funciona como um recurso de proteção, para nos fazer ter limite e nos ajudar a desenvolver consciência de onde podemos chegar. Em algumas situações o medo tem um papel importante na nossa sobrevivência pois nos dá consciência para evitar situações de risco e capacidade de reagir em situações de perigo, mas existe o medo comum, corriqueiro, que acomete a todos e existem as patologias. Não devemos confundir as fobias com medo, a síndrome do pânico com medo e o trauma com medo. Decorrentes de diferentes situações as três condições podem ser limitadoras se não for dada a elas a devida importância e se não forem tratadas da forma correta de modo que possam ser superadas. O medo patológico, seja ele qual for, pode ser fruto ou não de uma situação vivenciada pelo sujeito, podendo em algumas circunstâncias surgirem como reflexo de algum registro de perigo na memória de cada um (violência vista na tv, agressão sofrida por alguém). A patologia precisa ser tratado de forma adequada com a ajuda de profissionais capacitados. A psicoterapia auxilia no processo de melhora da vivência relacionada ao medo patológico ajudando o sujeito a tornar consciente o sentimento, racionalizar sobre a legitimidade do perigo que o assusta e experimentar o enfrentamento daquilo que o aterroriza como forma de internalizar que aquele sentimento não tem razão para permanecer sendo cultivado. O medo vivenciado pela maioria das pessoas está associado ao instinto de sobrevivência, não é possível viver sem medo, porém, a partir do momento que o medo traz algum tipo de disfunção ou prejudica a rotina, é necessário haver uma atenção especial sobre o sujeito.
