Real talk! After two years of little progress on improving my back injury, I stopped ALL exercise. Yup, I took four months off of trying anything except deep belly breathing and meditation. It started to improve. Then, added in very incrementally core and pelvic stability exercises. I stayed on the ground with these for eight months until my back told me it was ok to progress. Slowly, it's improving. It's a journey- and I never thought I'd be excited about lifting 2lb weights and hitting up the elliptical 😝, but I am so grateful that I'm progressing! I am focusing on loving my body for getting stronger everyday and allowing me to do more. I am honoring and respecting it, which is new. Moral of the story- stop judging yourself, put the ego away, and DO WHAT YOU CAN DO.
