I don’t have great memories of high school. There was this unspoken agreement that people had to be a certain way… certain sports, clothes, hang with the right people. So I tried to do it all, and I plastered on a positive attitude most days… but inside I was always hurting. I didn’t have anyone to talk to about this and it really ate me up inside. I had zero confidence because i was always looking for others approval and trying to be someone I wasn’t, I didn’t even know who I was. I was too scared about what others would think. I’m not someone who has any desire to go back to those days, because when I think back on them, they were really tough for me. And to be completely honest, I have only been back “home” 2 times since college and that was 16 years ago. I ran away to college. I went as far away as I could and I hoped that would be the place where I could find me and be me. I got even more lost though. I tried so hard to get peoples approval and I wanted to fit in so I would be whoever I needed to be to fit in. I used to really struggle looking back but now I recognize it as part of my story and needed it to be who I am today. I always compared myself to others. In high school and in college and I saw everything that others had always felt the lack in myself. It continued after college, the lack of love and confidence i had for myself made me try to validate myself by searching for others to give me love and confidence. Little did I know that it was an inside job. I had to learn to love myself. I had to figure out who I was and be comfortable with it. It took time. Gosh it is still a work in progress for sure! But I knew I could rewrite my story. First, I had to own my story. After owning who I was and the story I lived, I was able to rewrite it. I now seek out people and activities that make me feel good. I have realized that there is so much life to be lived. I have now vowed that I would form close relationships only with people who had genuine, pure hearts and a good character. When coaching came into my life, I knew I could CREATE a culture of confident women who wanted more from life. Women who wanted to shine AUTHENTICALLY and be part o

If you wait for the perfect moment, you will wait your entire life. If you are longing for inner peace, embrace the chaos. Life, especially with kids is chaotic. When I think about the most amount of progress I have ever made and the most meaningful growth, it has always come with chaos and learning to breathe, work, and settle into the chaos brings the most amount of peace. Being married to a firefighter, 3 super active and independent kids, wildfire season, teaching, starting a business, building a successful business. ITS CHAOTIC!!! I take pride in doing it with peace though. I stress at times but being busy makes me more focused. It makes my time more valuable. It makes the success more meaningful. Sure, I long for the days of a quiet house, binge watching Netflix, not being in 3 places at once, and maybe even bored. It sounds nice in theory, but that is what will drive me crazy!! The chaos keeps me calm. It keeps me going. Most importantly, it keeps me growing. So the perfect time... When things calm down... It won’t happen. Embrace the chaos, incest in you, find the joy in the storm. As soon as one storm clears another one comes so learn to find the relaxation and growth with each one that rolls through! Oh. And can I tell you that I did 15 minutes of the wrong workout today before realizing it and having to start all over with the right workout. I thought of it as a nice little bonus round!!!! It’s a Monday!!!!

I’ve been catching myself always in a rush lately. It’s a trap I fall into regularly, and I start to feel myself becoming stressed, impatient and unproductive, that trap that “busy” seems to push us into. # To get back on track I pulled back. Ignored my to-do list for a couple days and instead unplugged and focused on simple joys instead. A hike at sunset, lifting some heavy weights, reading books and get extra sleep. And you know what? I feel calm, present and ready to tackle the projects (and chores) that need to get done this week. # Feeling stressed and overwhelmed can mean we need to do the opposite of our intuition. Rather than push through, pull back instead and recharging your battery will have you ready to go. # Feeling stressed? What do you do to recharge? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #nutritiouslyemily #nutritiouslyemilytravels #hawaiiansunset #paia #hookipabeach #havealohawilltravel #gratitudeisthebestattitude #restandrecharge #sundayfunday #rechargeyourbattery #restmore #productivityhacks #unplug #lessismore #attitudeofgratitude #restdays #treatyoself #stressless #stresslesslivemore
