#techniquetuesday Via crossfitfortlauderdale ・・・SPLIT JERK TIPS - DIP AND DRIVEOn the #splitjerk athletes want to focus on having a short dip and a very fast and explosive drive. Make sure that your arms are not engaged in the dip and drive. Think of your arms as road signs that guide the barbell up to your overhead lockout. The push on the barbell comes from the legs and lower body. The dip and drive will move the barbell up and the arms will make sure that the barbell stays in the correct path. MIDLINE STABILITYMake sure to engage your core in the jerk. Lower back and midline must be activated while performing a jerk. DO NOT hold air in your sternum. Holding air in your sternum will not allow you to maintain midline stability. FOOT DISPLACEMENT Your front ankle should always be slightly in front of your front knee and your back foot should have the heel angled out. When you correct your displacement you should always correct by bringing your front foot back and then your back foot forward.______________________________________ #jerk #splitjerk #musclefarm #weightlifting #tip #coach #learn #usaw #oly #coachpablo #tools #fitness #instafit #teammusclefarm #push #legs #crossfit #TeamMuscleFarmDT #musclefarmdowntown #MuscleFarmBarbellClub #CrossFitMuscleFarmDowntown
