There's a lot of mixed opinions out there about getting into "contest" condition.. with all the IIFYM and other different diet fads now. Someone I've always looked up too since I started competing has always had a real simple statement that I have always believed in "The more you suffer, the better you look"-Frank McGrath. First day back to the heavy weights after a one week deload. Not gonna lie, the weight felt heavier than usual. The strength is still there though even at this lower bodyweight. . . Worked up to a 365lb low bar paused back squat at a 181.6lb bodyweight which is 2x bodyweight with a paws. Probably the slowest paused squat ever, but I got through it and with a bit of support from the gym. . . . Hit chest and tri's afterwards. For the dumbbell scull crushers, I learned a way to prevent the elbows from getting achy and wanted to share. First off, never go heavy with scull crushers. With that being said, keep the arms tight throughout both the eccentric and concentric portions of the lift. In other words keep your biceps flexed the entire time and there shouldn't be any achiness as a result. Worked for me and maybe someone will find this helpful! . . #squateveryday - Day 174
