1️⃣planks with 10 sec on and off of maximally contracting multiple muscle groups (posting with my lats, activating my glutes). These can be used as an effective tool in sports that require power and maximal activation (powerlifting, explosive sports)2️⃣side planks are an effective exercise in building your external obliques. As metioned in my benching video, a lot of your power in a bench press comes from activation of your external obliques proximally to create power distally at the chest and arms. The key to this exercise is maintaining a rigid segment with your spine+pevlis. Do not let your pelvis deviate from your spine and lead the movement. Your spine and hips should be moving together simultaneously, if your pelvis is rotating first and leading the transition into a side plank, you risk putting axial forces on the spine and develop poor movement patterns and energy leaks 3️⃣I do not recommend doing sit ups. compressive loading + repetitive movements = perfect set up for a posterior disc hernation/injury! #trainssmarternotharder #plankchallenge #abs #workout

When doing a 150 pound swing the seconds right before and after the swing are as important as the swings themselves. Start be setting the ribs,spine and hips before even starting to hinge. Drive the hips backwards going into a hinge before even touching the bell. Tilt the bell toward you packing the shoulders in place and bracing the core. Psoas MajorDo you have back pain?Running from the vertebra T12-L5 to the outside of the femur into the iliopsoas tendon. The Psoas major can be a controversial muscle in terms of its action. Depending on the natural curves of the person’s spine the axis of the joint rotation can change and thus it can anteriorly tilt the pelvis, that is, in a person with a large lordosis the psoas becomes a s lumbar spine extensor.
