. The most common overuse injuries in handball is located in the shoulder, knee and lower leg. Today, we will be focusing on exercises that can prevent overload injuries in the shoulder. ✅🏋🏼‍♀️ . . 🚑Young handball players have an increased amount of training compared to previous. This puts greater demands on their body to be able to follow the sudden increased exercise volume which can result in an increased rate of shoulder injuries. (Møller et al., 2017). . How can we reduce the risk of overuse injuries in the shoulder❓ ⛑👨‍⚕️Andersson et al. have made a specific shoulder program with many possibilities for variation in the selected exercises. By implementing this program as part of the warm up or part of the strength training, at least 2-3 times a week for about 10 minutes per session, the risk of overuse injuries in the shoulder will be reduced by 28%‼️‼️ (Andersson et al., 2016). . 🤾🏼‍♀️As a handball player it is extremely important to take care of the shoulders, becuase it is your weapon! If you have an overused shoulder or have had such problems earlier you should concider these exercises for training your shoulder muscles. . 👨🏻‍💻As a coach you will get more available players and increased team performance.
