Anyone else enjoy mixing oils before their face & body lotions? 🤔 Since it’s been super cold & dry lately, I’ve been on a Ylang Ylang kick. 🤸🏻‍♀️ Ylang Ylang essential oil is good for balancing your skin’s moisture levels (I have normal to dry skin). ⚖️ I mix a few drops with my rose hip oil (for the face) and almond oil (for the body). 💆🏻‍♀️ I layer on the oils on before my moisturizer & it’s been making a huge difference in my skin’s moisture. 💫 . 🌱 Use #plantawareness to sow the seed of self care.

A promise to my girl. ✨ I promise not to pick apart my flaws, or complain about my body in front of you. To not create a family culture that promotes fear of food or eating. To talk about food + movement with a sense of joy, emphasizing results that go far beyond what my physical body looks like. ⠀ .⠀ To remind friends + family to skip the comments about her body--shape, size or otherwise. To encourage them to emphasize her traits and character--strong, smart, empathetic, kind. To remind her that it’s our differences that make us shine.⠀ .⠀ To be mindful about what I’m consuming. Magazines, tv, IG feed. Put it all under the dang microscope, then decide if it’s what I want her to see. ⠀ .⠀ Then, and you know this is coming, turn it around. Because if it’s not good for her, it’s not good for us. Granting permission to build the same environment for myself. Because I deserve it, and I think you do, too.⠀ .⠀ Filter out, focus in. A little different transformation tuesday over here I've used to be a gal that lived by "well I should or I ought to or just because it's expected or they are counting on me"-those are all well & good, except if you are prisoner to living life because of others expectations! Now I embrace a little more self-compassion, boundaries with my time, and saying yes when I mean yes AND no when I mean no! It's very freeing!! ❤️ Bittersweet reflections tonight...after about 3 years of leading yoga with a lovely crew at the library I am pausing for a bit...I love leading yoga, it fills my soul...BUT... ❤️ This year is all about living with last month as I reflected on that, I decided that my purpose for Tuesday mornings needs to be at home with Charlotte while she's still at home with me... ❤️ I was a little overwhelmed by the lovely notes, flowers, words, & goodies (they know my ❤️-clean eating snacks!) from everyone in class was a gift! ❤️ Often we doubt our calling, purpose, or the why for our often we don't even realize that we are blessing someone, life keeps teaching me that as I bless others the blessings I receive are 10 fold...grateful heart tonight... ❤️ Don’t doubt that you can make a difference! ❤️ . . . . #selfcompassion #wholeheartedliving #embracingourselves #lovingourselves #yogamommy #yoga❤️ #yogagirls #momof2 #joymoment #preschoolmoms #momof2kids #wholehearted #faithnotfear #purposefulliving #createthelifeyouwant

I know it hurts. I know you are being asked to be brave…again. I know it feels like too much and you’re tired. I know sweetheart. You know what I also know? That you know how to use what hurts to wake up—you do. You can actually use this to be even more fully here, more fully alive, sensing, perceiving, and feeling. This is a new growth edge to take your heart open wider-still. Wider. Still. I know that you can use what hurts as a prompt to soften, that you can lean into the sensation with humility and tenderness as you’ve done so many times before, that you can wrap your whole heart around what hurts and wrap your whole heart around yourself and bless this moment in time with your love. I know that you can tap into the hurt of all beings through this too, and right from your center ripple healing out to the whole. Your love changes everything. You know how to invite grace here, right into what hurts, although you forget sometimes when you need it most. When you’re struggling hardest you forget so I’m here to remind you again to release the struggle. You struggle even against beingness itself sometimes. Relax. Open. Soften. The fight is futile anyway—this we’ve learned the hard way time and time again. Your healing lies in presence and surrender. You remember. How much tenderness can you bring to this? How much gentleness can you summon from your depths? How much trust can you invoke—in your body, in life itself? Relax into your own existence. This is where the fountain of well-being is found. Well. Being. You are always connected, just resisting the flow. You are held. You are loved, even in this, like this, with this, in spite of this. Somedays I really just don't want to get up and go to work or the gym. Sometimes I get there and feel like I barely got anything accomplished. Today I went to work and got half the notes done that I wanted to. I got to the gym and wanted to bike for an hour and only did for 15 minutes. At the end of my workout I was feeling frustrated but decided to look in the mirror and say "Suzie, you showed up. That's something". Sometimes showing up is all we have in us, and it's taken me a long time to realize that showing up is enough. Heck, not going would have been enough too!
