Ascending Pyramids or Reverse Pyramids? Comment below with your favorite way to squat🙋🏼‍♀️ - I normally prefer to incorporate ascending pyramids, which is the process of adding weight to each set, while decreasing reps as the weight gets heavier. As an example, one ascending pyramid squat set might look like this👇🏻 - warm up set (barbell) x20 65 lbs x12 85 lbs x10 100 lbs x8 115 lbs x6 135 lbs x4 - Ascending pyramid sets require your muscles to be working longer, driving them to fatigue. This is a good thing for muscle hypertrophy (growth)! Pyramid sets include your warmup, which saves time, and switches up that standard squat routine you may get bored with. Also, squats are one of my fav core strength training exercises. Keep your head up. We all had a Day 1 of our journey. Everybody has, so don’t for a minute think we all just got to this point based on luck or genetics. Be disciplined, hold yourself accountable, and keep going. Before you know it, Day 1 will be day 101. The heaviest I got post surgery was 195lbs.
