STRUGGLING WITH YOUR PULL UPS? - This is an exercise which I would classify as quite difficult but once you have achieved the ability to complete it is very rewarding! - It’s an exercise that takes persistence and continual effort, so get it in your plan and start progressing- add it in as your first exercise for each session - Its the same as anything, practice makes perfect and increased frequency will help progress. - Some don’t know where to start, so here is a video which can help set you of on the right foot to mastering this exercise! - The bands will assist you, mainly from the very bottom of the movement. - They can be adjusted by either the height the band is placed, or with the strength of the band being used so adjust to what suits you and challenges you - The idea is to use the resistance that will help you complete the movement for 3 sets of 4-8 quality reps - Once 3 sets of 8 reps are complete, make the exercise more difficult by using a weaker band or lowering the position of the barbell hooks they are attached to. - Its important to work through full range of movement so fully extend the arms at the bottom, we don’t want any half reps - Once at the top of the movement think of driving your elbows down towards your pockets, hold for a slight second and keep your chest high up towards the bar - From the top of the movement extend the arms slowly and under control, we want to work through the eccentric part of the movement also (lowering phase) your body can withstand more load and handle more stress through this part of the movement so utilise that to build strength. - Let me know how you get on and if it helps your progress :) - #pullups #pullup #exercise #training #trainingtiptuesday #irishfitfam #progress #progression #pushpullgrind

Pretty excited that I repped out (225x4) my old 1 rep max especially after being up for 27 hours. Although I could've gone a little lower, I'm happy with the progression.
