Throwback Thursday! To when I was 9 months pregnant with Mackenzie and still training my clients. Let me tell you guys, it's a lot easier to demonstrate exercises now 😂. I've been working really hard these past 8 months postpartum and I can honestly say that I'm the strongest and most fit I've been in my life. I feel proud of this because I also have less time to workout than I ever had before. I've had to be quite creative and efficient in my quick (and sometimes kid-involved) workouts. Combined with proper nutrition they seem to be working! Some days I only have 8 minutes to workout while other days I have 30, but I've found that I don't need to have hour-long workouts to build up my fitness level. I'm exercising more days a week than I have in the past, but my workouts are much shorter and realistic for my lifestyle. I'm so glad I never gave up on myself, even with the pessimistic comments I've heard over the years that "you'll never get your body back after childbirth." This is for all you moms out there! Don't give up on yourselves and don't EVER let anyone tell you that you can't be as fit as you were before having kids. It's false! Client matt_abraham_94, matt_abraham_personal_training taking 170kg for a new 3RM. After his cut, matt had lost 11kg and halved his body-fat percentage. With any huge loss of body weight, matt did lose a bit of strength. - So, even though Matt has squatted more than this - when programming, I used 170kg as his current 1rm. So coming out of his last cycle, it's nice to see his strength numbers radically increase as he reversed dieted out of his last cut.

LOW CARB + NO SUGAR OPTIONS 🍳 - 🏋So my last couple couple of food related posts have been about the pre and post workout period. And as you guys probably noticed, those windows for me are all about carbs. - 😴I load up pre and post workout. But when I'm not training, my diet actually looks something like this graphic here. I actually eat like this most of the time, and when I'm trying to lose fat, I'll eat this way almost every day. - 🥒But atm on rest days I like to not only give my digestive system a break but also keep my insulin sensitivity in check. For these reasons I like to combine intermittent fasting, and when I do eat it's mostly whole and unprocessed foods. - 🥗Most of the carbs I consume will come from mostly fruits, vegetables and complex sources. - 🍳Breakfast food is pretty standard. Poached eggs, a whole avocado, smoked salmon, tomato & spinach is a rest day special. - 🥜I'll also have a couple of protein shakes a day & I'll throw in some coconut oil, peanut butter, chia seeds or occasionally all there. - 🥕And then generally for dinner I'll usually cook up a pretty epic stir fry (often times meat free) but otherwise I'll grill up a bit of protein & smash as many greens as I can. - 🤓Anyway I thought it was important to include this. It's not as fun or fancy as the other stuff, but it's realistic & it works for me. - 😷Plus I thought it might help some of you that may be in a caloric deficit or are trying to improve your digestion/gut health. - ❤️Hope this helps. I was happier and more proud of myself than I knew was possible but I didnt realize just how much more could change in a year. I didnt realize yet that it wasn't about the weight you lose, but the life you gain. I started my bucket list and experienced many adventures that in my 25 years of life hadn't been possible as a prisoner in my own body. This past year has been the best year of my life but also one of the hardest with losing a family member, others diagnosed with cancer, and my mother in law literally dying from a heart attack to be brought back twice. Life is short and I want to live it to the fullest. This year has tested me but taught me the value of finding my own happiness and that each day is a gift. This year taught me never to settle for a life you dont love. That being said this year I quit my job to work for myself and put my happiness first. I traveled more than I ever have in my life. I spent more time with family and realized how important time is to not take advantage of. I laughed until I cried, fell more times than I can count, kept going when i wanted to give up, saved my life, stayed up all night watching movies, made new friends, went to concerts, finally fit on a rollercoaster and airplane, went to the Grand Canyon, Vegas, New York, and drove 12 hours randomly just to go to my favorite place (Universal Harry Potter world) for only 2 days, Losing weight is hard but every single step you take will lead you to where you need to go. Never live a life you're not proud of and never settle. Do things daily that scare/excite you at the same time & fall in love with taking care of yourself mentally aswell as physically.
