It's #fannyfriday and with one simple exercise we're getting rid of back pain!!! - You might be wondering why I'm showing you the same one legged glute bridge you did last friday, right? There are many many great reasons! - If you spend a lot of your day on your feet, you may find that you favor posting on one leg over the other. - If you spend a lot of your day on your seat, you may find that you favor posting on one cheek over the other. - If you have small children, you may find that you favor holding them on one hip over the other. - If you often carry heavy bags, you may find that you favor holding them in one hand or over one shoulder. - You are a creature of habit many many many subconscious habits! That's OK! If any above applies to you, you probably want to continue reading. - I have seen this imbalance in so many people it makes my head spin! Some don't notice it, though the strength difference is detectable. Some don't realize it is even there, despite a size difference. Some are coming off serious injury and rehab and it is very apparent. - Do YOU have a butt imbalance? - Do YOU want to FIND OUT?! - The one-legged glute bridge is your answer! This one simple exercise exposes left to right and front to back differences in a jiffy. - With your leg raised so the top of your quads are even with each other, drive your heel on the floor down and bring your hips off the ground. Hold this for 10 seconds. What muscle do you feel working? Hamstrings, quads, glutes or back? - Secondly, have a partner watch your hip motion while you're performing this. Does one side hang lower than the other side? Do you have difficulty bringing your knee, hip, and shoulder into a straight line? - What muscles are holding back your performance this year?
