Most moms can relate that after giving birth, it’s so tough to go back to your pre-baby body. I was just 90 lbs in college (underweight for my height) so I managed to get to 110 lbs in a few years then it has been steady till I got diagnosed with PCOS. My hormones were out of wack, gained more than I needed during the pregnancy despite eating healthy. I wasn’t that concerned with the weight gain but with ensuring Kara’s health isn’t affected and thank God I gave birth to a healthy, beautiful, and chunky baby! At first, I was so conscious especially with everyone telling me I still haven’t gotten back to my previous weight after a year and more post-partum (well PCOS makes it difficult, just glad I didnt grow a moustache). Now, here I am “with bilbil” as my daughter would lovingly call it because she likes sleeping on my tummy and I’m happy with all my imperfections. I am taking steps to become healthy and fit not because of self-image or to build confidence but because that is what is beneficial for my family and I - I cant take care of my family if I’m not healthy especially since we’ve been trying and hopefully will be blessed with another child soon. 🙏🙏🙏 #loveyourbody #mombod #healthyliving

I presented this musical activity to Kara and we are having so much fun hahaha - I saw the Rainbow Handbells at Abba’s Orchard before (Casa Classroom) and I found them at hobbesandlandes ❤️❤️❤️ I also discovered they have this Rainbow spinning bells with a mallet. You can spin it to hear all the tones. Each colored bell represents a tone (it acts as the control of error when I show Kara the song sheet - she has to strike the bell that matches the color in the sheet, in sequence). The #Montessori method of presenting music helps build good listening skills, promote self expression, and increase a child’s self confidence. I started by demonstrating how it works “strike the bell with the mallet” then Kara copied me. Later on she started playing on her own. Then we started showing her the “patterns” to follow so we managed to play “Jingle Bells”. She even asked if she could play the drums while I use the Rainbow bells. In Montessori curriculum, some activities do need to be presented depending on its complexity and for safety purposes. Overall, it was really fun - we spent 2 hours singing and playing music. The way I was taught was very different - when I was in gradeschool/highschool I really disliked Music (we were forced to learn to read notes and play the Recorder and I’m not a fan - I prefer percussions... but everyone must learn the SAME THING). Anyway, aside from the “Copy Me” activity which we did, you can also play sounds and ask your child what sound it is (like, an ambulance, a barking dog, a doorbell, etc). Later on, you can listen to songs and ask your child to identify what musical instrument is being played. You don’t need to be a “music teacher” or a savant to develop the appreciation in your child - you just need to spend time with them and appreciate music together ❤️❤️❤️

I never realized how talkative Kara was till I observed her for an hour talking to each child at gymboree_ph - I had no idea that the 3 year old kid she was talking to was Chinese till Kara said "hi" and he didn't respond right away, and she decided to try "ni hao" then the kid said "hun hao". She could have said "kamusta" also since we talk to her in Filipino too. This was after they were acquainted. Anyway, I really believe our little girl is ready for Casa! She loves being with other kids (we were the ones in tears when she went to a trial class because she just said "bye bye mama, bye bye papa!" and went to a shelf and picked an activity). We're very excited to meet the Dec 9 group for #MommyMattersPh 😍😍😍 New set of classmates for Kara, new friends to make!

There are a lot of practical life activities that have multiple layers and purposes to them. Threading is one of them. One of the most important lessons to be learned is independence and self-confidence. What I like most and notice is that this really improves concentration and patience. Of course, this also promotes fine motor skills and spatial awareness. Kara also learned how to lace beads after practising with this. She particularly likes this because of the bright color (& she loves apples!) Anyway, she napped for 3 hours straight I was able to finish my presentation for #Kerygmaconference already hihi 😍 #Montessorieducation

As a Digital Marketing Consultant and Keynote speaker, I always highlight the importance of Influencer Marketing, specifically - MICROINFLUENCERS. I'm not referring to celebrities but the industry experts, the bloggers, vloggers (youtube), enthusiasts, and advocates. When choosing micro-influencers for your digital marketing campaign, don’t make the mistake of focusing on reach alone. Influencers with high follower counts may help you reach a larger audience, but only a small percentage of those consumers will be genuinely interested in your product. As a small business or startup, you need to make sure that every peso you spend on marketing yields the highest possible ROI. When you target the right micro-influencers, you ensure that your message will reach a relevant audience of consumers who are much more likely to be genuinely interested in what you offer. This will result in higher-quality leads and an increase in ROI. For example, I as theprojectmommyger am also a micro-influencer and I know that my engagement rate is 34-48% (to give you an idea, a good engagement rate is 7% for any brand, anything below will not lead to your target conversion and a good conversion rate is 2-3%). I only work with brands that match my values and interests so I decline offers to review or promote products that don't align with it. I always tell an agency who reaches out that they didn't research me enough whenever they offer a product that I won't be interested in trying. It is important to know your target market (including your influencers). This has been the rule since the dawn of marketing. 😉 Want to learn more? Join kerygmaconference next week!!! Limited seats left for my class!
