Our baby girl slipped on ice while on a walk.. prepping for surgery next week and here's Phoebe looking absolutely miserable in her new solvit harness that'll support her hip and knee during rehab after surgery... 3 very intense and misrable months lie ahead of us as we try to teach Phoebe for the first time in 8 yrs how to pee and poo on a leash! My 1st attempt to complete a 3km jog (54 days post a shoulder dislocation which resulted in a half ligament tear) went really well. I was really delighted that I did not feel any pain or discomfort throughout the entire run!! The exercises that I have been diligently doing is finally paying off! Everyone wants to be better NOW, but this isn’t realistic. Tissue healing takes TIME. We can’t rush it. And it’s important to understand that tissues heal at different rates depending on their physical makeup and blood supply, among other things. Additional contributing factors, such as diabetes, age, poor nutrition, inadequate rest, etc can further delay the healing process. . 📈 This chart shows the AVERAGE range of healing times for various tissues in the body, including different grades of tissue injury for muscles, tendons, and ligaments. It can serve not only as a guide but also a reminder that we can’t force our bodies to heal faster than physiologically possible.
