This. This my second favorite building in Lawrence. I can still smell the books in the stacks of the children’s section in the lawrencelibrary basement all those years ago. (My all-time favorite building is KU’s Natural History Museum.) . . #Repost lawrencemodern ( get_repost) ・・・ I love the #Carnegie Building. Constructed in 1904 for $27k from #andrewcarnegie - It served as the lawrencelibrary until 1972. It was added to the #nationalregisterofhistoricplaces in 1975. This morning it was beaming with Christmas Spirit. #lawrenceks #historicpreservation

The beautifully restored and relocated Lowry House, circa 1870, Jackson, Ms. This home belonged to former Mississippi Governor Robert Lowery, and was saved through a 10 year, $750,000 effort of Mississippi Heritage Trust.( And very much how I would like the home we are renovating to look one day!)The Lowery House was in a sad state of disrepair, and located on land in the planned path of Baptist Hospital’s expansion, The hospital foundation was instrumental in helping relocate the house to a lot next to the historic Manship House, circa 1857, on East Fortification in Jackson. # housegoals #historicpreservation #mississippihistory #oldhomes #oldhomerenovation #mississippiheritagetrust #mississippihouses #historichomes

Listed on Arkansas’s Most Endangered Places list, Woodruff House was built in 1853 for one of Little Rock’s founding fathers: William E. Woodruff. Woodruff was the publisher of the first newspaper west of the Mississippi-the Arkansas Gazette. In his late 60s, he served in the Confederate army, rising to the rank of colonel. Woodruff was considered a threat to the Union and they banished him from his home and city. The Yankees took over his house, using it for officer’s quarters and a hospital. Woodruff returned to his home after the war, where he remained until his death in 1885. More about Woodruff, his family, his deep ties to the history of Arkansas, and his gem of a home can be seen on a video at quapaw.com. #thisplaceinhistory quapawquarterassociation yourarheritage civilwarmed

Absolutely NO filter is needed when they bring a magnificently fully bricked building back to its original beauty. 🙌🏼 En route to a work holiday party and walked by this natural beautiful building shining its truest self.
