19 Feb 2018 M97C20T4 SQUATS + GRIP I went into this workout feeling sore as hell and right from the get go Squats were a challenge. This sense of weakness and fatigue only let up towards the end of Squats and I think it is because I paced myself well and I was liberal with my rest intervals. Still, I am keeping a tentative plan to deload next week. #Legday #monday Today hurt. And rather concerning was the fact that i felt as though i couldn't breath properly, as in couldn't get in a full breath?!! Maybe my asthma is playing up after having wheat over the weekend, with the change in weather? With my less than 3 hrs sleep last night, yet again, and a big weekend it could be my anxiety playing up too? Who knows. I do know on my last set of high bars I got a bit of a sharp pain in my chest on my 4th rep.... i panicked momentarily then pushed on lol. Probs a bit stupid but im posting on insta so i didn't die 🤣 Low bar box squats 52kg - 5 sets of 10. Set 2 & 5 shown. I think I'm doing these right? benmach ? High bar squats 4x8. Set 2 i filmed first and was disappointed with the lack of tension at the bottom of the squat. Set 4 was def better because i slowed it down and told myself not to panic that i couldn't breath 😂😂😂 These were superset with hammie curls, followed by bulg split squats and calf raises. If you want to do something correctly you need to have high standards. This is a video of my 3rd work set, it couldve been better. The first 2 sets had good speed and clean form, so nothing to talk about there. rep 1 i throat yell because im mad about the bounce/control loss at the bottom. rep 2 and 3 are slow (tired core/hip flexors) and i exhale a small amount through the sticking point (bad/generally unsafe but can work if timed right) #squat #squats #atg #squatform #highbarsquats #2xbodyweight #doublebodyweight

I have not done high bar squats in as long as I remember which probably means never haha wanted to try something new and see how my quad strength stacks up. I was pleasantly surprised!! You van probably tell by the concerned loom on my face that I wasn't too sure about these haha Worked up to 140kg/308lbs x8 which is not whatnot was expecting. My best ever with 315lbs was about 11 or 12 with low bar! Might reveal that I actually have a weak core or back but time will tell After that moved onto some floor presses. Got up to 110kg/242.5lbs for a touch and go rep record of 8! Feeling strong these days with some extra calories in my belly :) working on a #reversediet to speed up my metabolism a bit before I attempt cutting back down this summer.
