We’re back in action, but let’s talk about the importance of mental health - ✍️ WHAT HAS BRYAN BEEN UP TO? - 💥 I came to a point last week as I was completing my power list for the day,courtesy of andyfrisella, and reflecting on my critical tasks that we’re going to get me to my goals. - ✊🏾What I found is that I was not taking enough time for myself. This was hard to admit because I’ve always been a giver to others. But, when you give so much of yourself that your mental health begins to decline it’s time to take a step back. - 💥That is exactly what I did! I made it a point to 👉🏾take care of my clients 👉🏾take time to call & check on the parents& family 👉🏾prayer & reflection time 👉🏾enjoy some Favorite tv shows 👉🏾still check in with you guys on my story 👉🏾 read a good book - 🌐 But, most importantly when all my tasks were done relax and go to sleep. * * * 👌🏾 My energy & productivity has been so much better and I would hope if you’re always stressed thinking you’re not doing enough just know there is always going to be more to do!

Goal setting for health and fitness can be a really daunting task and lets face it setting a vague goal is just not going to cut it. . It probably goes something like this….”this year I am going to lose weight” or after waking up hung-over “this year I am going to get in shape” . It is time to cut the BS, as goal setting goes so much deeper than that. At the end of the day, if you want a result, then you need to be specific. . It’s time for a new way of thinking. There is preparation and then execution. Goals will never be achieved without preparation and then following through on them, PLUS they need to be achievable. . No matter how big or small your goal-whether it’s losing 5 or 50 kilos, walking a mile or running your first marathon, making change requires planning and smart goal setting. . 1. You need to get Specific. 2. Your goal needs to be Measurable. 3. Make your goal attainable. 4. Make your goal relevant. 5. Set a Time frame. Include an end-point. 6. Tasty Tuesday! 😋 Kung Pao Chicken 1 ½ lbs. Cooked boneless, skinless chicken breast 2 Teaspoons canola oil ½ cup green onions, chopped ½ Teaspoon crushed red pepper ½ Teaspoon ground ginger 4 Tablespoon rice wine vinegar 4 Tablespoon low sodium soy sauce 1 packet of Stevia in the raw 24 unsalted dry roasted peanuts Heat oil in large non-stick skillet or work on medium heat. Add chicken. Stir fry 5-7 minutes or until no longer pink in center. Remove from heat. Add onions, red pepper, and ginger to skillet. Stir fry 15 seconds. Remove from heat. Combine vinegar, soy sauce, and stevia in small bowl. Stir well. Add to skillet. Return chicken to skillet. Stir until chicken is well coated. Stir in nuts. Heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally. 5 cosas que NO debería haber en tu cena 1- Alimentos con grasa Los alimentos que contienen mucha grasa hacen que al día siguiente despiertes con pesadez. Además, durante la noche no permiten que el proceso de digestión se haga de forma eficaz. Evita los helados, comida rápida, alimentos con mucho queso o fritos. 2- Alimentos con mucha azúcar Los chocolates por la noche son deliciosos, pero pueden ser estos lo que estén provocando que te despiertes con tanta hambre. Los azúcares son carbohidratos simples, quiere decir que el cuerpo los procesa con facilidad y se traducen en energía, la cual si no se utiliza, se almacena como grasa. Evita galletas, pastel o snacks con mucha miel o caramelizados. 3- Carne roja o proteínas pesadas La cena es considerada el alimento más liviano durante el día. El consumir proteínas hace que tu cuerpo tarde mucho en el proceso de digestión, lo que no te permitan dormir. Durante la noche el cuerpo se recupera de las actividades del día y toma lo que necesita para procurarte de energía. Si por la noche recibe una porción de alimento grande, la quema de energía se mantendrá constante y difícilmente podrás conciliar el sueño. 4- Comida muy condimentada Para evitar las famosas “agruras” y la acidez estomacal, evita consumir alimentos muy condimentados durante la noche: picantes, curry, pimienta, mostaza. 5- Modera las porciones Por último, recuerda que las porciones de lo que comes deben estar acorde a las actividades de tu día. La cena debe contener porciones pequeñas que tu cuerpo pueda digerir y que hagan del proceso de digestión nocturno un tiempo llevadero. Puedes cenar alguna ensalada muy ligera con proteínas como atún o pescado que son muy fáciles de digerir o puedes probar Quinoa con champiñones Espero que con estos cambios puedas conciliar el sueño más fácilmente, te despiertes con energía y despiertes con ligereza.
