If you read yesterday's post, you know front starting off in front lever work, the Arching Pull In provides a lot of bang for your buck and sets you up to make good long term gains toward your front levers! If you didn't read it, go back one post and check that one out to see now to build the beginning of your front levers. This post is about the other extreme. Here, I'm working toward a One Arm Front Lever. Now we know the benefits of front lever work: Massive straight arm strength over a wide range of motion. You won't just be strong with bent arms, but also with straight arms and bad leverage. You strengthen your shoulders ability to move which leads to more strength gain than the more common exercises you see in the gym. It gives a lot of benefit for a little work. With all that benefit, it makes sense to want to keep the gains coming even after you achieve the full front lever. That's when you shift to one arm work. One Arm Front Lever work provides all the same benefits of straight arm pulling strength, but now on only one arm. It lets you continue to gain the strength you originally were working toward but with even less leverage and more disadvantage which leads to even MORE gains. The benefits for this become even easier to see. Better hanging and climbing strength, grappling and lifting strength improves, and it opens up a whole new world of movement options since you can literally move yourself around while on one hand.
