⚠️Wow, what a difference 6 years makes! I remember after having Kinsley and Kael, people always complimented me with how I lost my baby weight. Well, let me tell you HOW I lost weight with my first two babies, compared to my last two babies. .. For someone who has struggled with body image and eating disorders, losing weight is a COMPLETE mind F game... I used to think that not eating would help me reach my goals. Yes I’ve been an athlete my entire life. Yes I went to school in the health and medical field, I KNEW how to be healthy, but actually living it was another story. .. BUT when it came to me, my mind was so screwy, that I NEVER thought I could actually lose weight the right way or that being healthy was just a image that meant “skinny.” I didn’t think any process would work for ME. .. You guys... let me tell you, I used to not eat and “save my calories” for Ben and Jerry’s ice cream...😬I would legit hide 4-5 pints in my freezer (yes I hid them from myself so I would be excited when I found them🤦🏻‍♀️). I only did cardio and that was it. I had no muscle, and I was soft, but my clothes hid it well. I wasn’t fit AT ALL. I was pretend fit 🙈 And when people would compliment me, I took it as if I WAS making my process work. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ sooooo dumb you guys. .. After Kruz (baby3), I decided to try something different. I was tired of starving. I wanted to see if I could ACTUALLY lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. .. But in the back of my head, I told myself “there is NO WAY it’s actually going to work for you!” “You’ll NEVER look like those peeps in the infomercials and all their success stories.” How mean was I?? My inner mean girl was KILLER. And she won, most of my life. But, I had the courage to tell her to SIT THE FRICK DOWN YO! .. Fast forward 4 1/2 years later, Im still going strong! I exercise consistently, I’m not 💯 on my nutrition but I don’t give up. I have competed in 4 bikini comps and nationally qualified 2X. I continue to push myself to be happier and healthier. .. Best part? IM NOT STARVING! Do I still struggle with body image? Absolutely! But it doesn’t control me nor does it define me. If you’re struggling, don’t give up on U!

Ya know, believe it or not (^^this) girl you’re looking at right here - used to have *the* absolute worst self-confidence issues. You know how it is, we’re taught that in order to “fit in” in society you must talk a certain way, dress a certain way, do certain things, have certain things etc. It consumed me so badly in fact that I developed anorexia my freshman year of college, with my weight dropping to a solid 60-65 pounds smaller than where I’m sitting at now. I was miserable. It felt like no matter what I did that I would never find that “happiness” that everyone else seemed to have. . . After going through a recovery period, only to relapse again, my life started taking some extreme turns and I decided enough was enough. That’s when I began picking up the weights and taking them seriously. And that’s when my life started taking a complete 180. . . Not only did this give me some sort of purpose/goal in my own personal life (something to focus on outside of school/the daily routine) - but it GAVE me that confidence in myself I’d been striving for so long. . . Was it an overnight process? Absolutely not. It’s taken years to get to the point I’m at today. But it is the slow and steady growth, mentally and physically, that has taught me so many valuable lessons in this life. . . Bodybuilding isn’t just about training the body. It’s also about training the mind. After all, you can only ever “do” what you tell yourself you can do. . . This translates to everything in your life. . . For me: it’s taught me a newfound discipline with school, it’s taught me how to let go of negative influences in my life that divert me from my goals, its taught me how to keep moving forward no matter what failures or obstacles get thrown my way. . . It took me a long time to realize that TRUE happiness wasn’t in following these stupid trends and “norms” - but instead with building myself up (literally), both mentally and physically, to be the best person I can be in this life. . . I am extremely proud of where I’m sitting at in the present day, but my work is far from done. Believe me when I say that this is just the beginning.

So many body positive advocates and "fitness gurus" post meals of bacon, cheese, milk, eggs, butter, etc. & use words like "healthy" and "balanced" praising the macronutrient ratios in these foods, whilst neglecting to notice how poor they truly are for our bodies & planet. I love that there are people out there speaking out about self care, but that includes fueling your body with plant foods! A balanced VEGAN diet, full of fruits, veggies, nuts/seeds, grains, beans/legumes & spices, is not only optimal for human health ( dr_esselstyn engine2diet nutrition_facts_org veganbodybuilding getfitandthick ) but also for our amazing animals and Earth ( earthlingsfilm cowspiracy ) 💕💕💕 Helping people feel confident and healthy is absolutely one of my main goals in life. I want men and women to feel & be shining examples of light & positive energy for ourselves & future generations. You cannot do that while supporting the number one cause of deforestation on the planet: animal agriculture. ----- Global warming is very real, & I know so many of you want to do your part to reduce your footprint. The best way to do that is to go plant based! Maybe vegan is asking a lot, but reducing consumption of animal products is the least we can do! ----- In regards to health, ED recovery/body positivity, weight loss, disease prevention, etc., veganism is where it is AT ⚡️🔥 The only diet that can reverse the number one killer of men and women in the US is a plant based diet! (Watch Dr Michael Greger's TEDx talk) Eating plants IS treating your body with love and respect 💕 The best part about veganism is it's not all about you and how you look! It's about how you have the power to create and inspire peace & change in the world. When demand for animal products goes down, less is produced. Less animals enslaved/killed, less water/land wasted, less air polluted. This is a lifestyle that empowers you to feel that you're more than a body. You are a member of this society, where every dollar you spend is a vote for what you believe in. You are powerful and capable. ~ Please, do your research and make an effort to start #MEATFREE & #DAIRYFREE for 1 day a week! ❤️
