Well, I've managed to keep myself between 130 and 220 for the past 24 hours. Walgreen's sold me some syringes so I'm able to inject insulin until my loaner pump gets here tomorrow morning. Since I don't have any long acting insulin, I just set alarms throughout the night to wake up and test. Not ideal, but tolerable. I'm going to be so happy to see that Medtronic box tomorrow! #diabetes #diabetic #diabeteslife #type1 #type1diabetes

Tampak bengkak hilang dan luka mengering (terutama di bagian kelingking), tumbuh bakal daging baru di luka yg semakin mengecil. Pemakaian kira-kira berjalan 2 box. I had a blast working out with shesweatsdiamonds and icandothissaidthefatgirl this past Saturday! I have the sun burn to prove it lol! I am so proud of us working out in the Texas heat and working hard on our temples that God gave us! Hahhahhahah I just realized I have a little piece of grass in the shape on an L in the middle on my forehead LOL! 😂😂😂😂

Taking some time off for yourself is not lazy/the easy way out. In many ways, it can be very difficult, especially if you tend to expect a lot from yourself — Today, I finally did it: I dropped a class I was taking because I've been feeling so overwhelmed by my diabetes and just overall been anxious/panicky about everything, tired, and unable to focus, so I felt like I needed some time to put my health first🙏🏽 I'm still a full time student but taking the minimum amount of credits ....part of me feels stupid/guilty/lazy for having to lessen my workload/take less classes than the majority of people, but I know that it's what I had to do: to have a few extra hours a week to really focus on my mental and physical health, which will also help me do well academically. And no, this doesn't mean that diabetes is a hindrance in any way! Type 1 Diabetes is an inconvenience but it doesn't stop you from being able to do anything if it's under control... BUT if it does feel suffocating, overwhelming, anxiety/panic inducing, then it's important to acknowledge that, and give yourself time to process and heal 🌻💕 There's no shame in admitting that you feel burnt out🙏🏽🌺 it's hard not to when you're dealing with an invisible, chronic illness🤔 It might not seem like a big deal to have dropped one class, and I will be taking a summer class to make up for it so it's all okay, but it really wasn't an easy decision to make — to actually allow myself to prioritize my health, and to reach out to my academic advisor about — but I'm glad I made it ✨ (and also that I go to a university that is so understanding and vocal about the importance of wellbeing 🌈🙌🏽) #mentalhealth #type1diabetes #vegan

Resveratrol #supplementation supports arterial health in type 2 diabetics A randomized, double-blind #study reported on August 3, 2017 in the #International #Heart journal found improvements in arterial stiffness and oxidative stress among type 2 #diabetics who were #supplemented with resveratrol. The trial included 50 #diabetic #men and #women who received 100 milligrams #resveratrol or a placebo daily for 12 weeks. Cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI, a novel diagnostic measure of arterial stiffness that is a marker of #atherosclerosis) and #blood pressure were assessed at the beginning and end of the study, in addition to blood assessments of oxidative #stress and other factors. At the end of the study, subjects who received resveratrol had significantly lower blood pressure, less oxidative stress and decreased arterial stiffness in comparison with values obtained at the beginning of the study. Participants who received a placebo experienced no significant changes in these areas. “The primary finding in the present study was that oral supplementation of resveratrol for 12 weeks decreased CAVI in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus,” authors Haruki Imamura, MD, and colleagues at Toho #University Sakura #Medical Center in Japan write. “Many previous studies have demonstrated increased CAVI in atherosclerotic #diseases such as acute #coronary #syndrome and #stroke, and these reports indicate that CAVI reflects #organic atherosclerosis.” They suggest that a reduction in oxidative stress may be one mechanism involved in the improvement in arterial stiffness observed in this study among participants who received resveratrol.
