2018 is the year of #baseball. I'm already going to Washington DC to see my #newyorkmets face those nasty Nationals, but now in June I'll be joining over a thousand other #Mets fans as we invade Chase Field to face the diamondbacks. Can't wait for another great outing with the7linearmy! #metsbaseball #letsgomets #lgm #mlb #the7line #7linearmy #7la #t7l #diamondbacks #nationals #beisbol #nym #nymets #chasefield #nationalspark #citifield #baseballseason #baseballfan #baseballgame

Here are my 2018 Mets Spring Training Predictions: 5. Both of these players played both of those positions and the only person that has a chance to get these positions is Wilmer Flores. This makes this the least risky prediction, hence why it is number five. What is more up in the air is how much playing time they will get at either position. Amed Rosario was called up last year from AAA Las Vegas, and he played pretty well. I believe that Rosario will play well but not good enough to be the second baseman for every game. I think that Cabrera will get more playing time than Flores because of how he played in 2017, compared to Flores. I also think that Rosario will play more at shortstop, and Cabrera will play more at second base. 4. This is the most risky of my predictions, because it is no secret that Smith underperformed in 2017, with a .198 batting average, a -1.2 WAR average, and 9 home runs. Despite these mediocre stats, I believe that he has done a lot, such as dropping 30 pounds in the offseason, as well as coming into this year with more experience. It’s risky, but I have faith in Smith 3. I already made a post explaining my opinion on Wheeler's situation in greater detail, so I won't sound like a broken record and repeat myself too much, but, put simply, I feel like there is too much talent in the pitching rotation for Wheeler to find a spot. Also, he is fighting a very steep uphill battle to come back from Tommy John Surgery. I'm not saying it's impossible that he'll start, It's just very unlikely. 2. I already wrote about Cespedes yesterday so again, I won't repeat myself, but Cespedes declared that he wants to be MVP this year, and he has made a lot of changes during the offseason, such as doing yoga and stopping playing golf to prevent injuries. I definitely think that it will be possible, except that there are many talented star players in the NL this year that all have a chance to get NL MVP. 1. The Mets went 20-20 last year in Spring Training, and I believe that they will do noticeably better this year because of how much they've improved and how much they've learned from last year's problems with injuries.
