Playtesting Earthfire Games' "Argilkin: Ages." Wow, played as Gnomes and got stomped by the Soulforged. Balancing the respawn power of the Soulforged was critical. That's why #playtesting is important! . . . #boardgames #bgg #boardgamegeek #gamenight #familyfun #cardboardaddiction #nerd #fun #strategy #tabletop #tabletopgames #tabletopgaming #hex #ageofthemagi #earthfiregames #prototype #Protospiel #3dprinting #concept

Learning to play #PieTown just in time for #Thanksgiving! This is a gorgeous little #workerplacement game with a super fun theme and cute little components and dice. Can't wait to introduce it to friends tomorrow! renegade_game_studios #bgg #boardgamegeek #gamenight #cardboardaddiction #boardgameart #boardgame #dice #tabletop

sim1mcg and I have really enjoyed playing #thefoxintheforest by renegade_game_studios. A trick taking game exclusively for two players! Love the scoring system. You either want to win very few tricks or a lot - but not too many. There's too many tricks in a round for both players to be successful at this. That the odd numbered cards have special powers only adds to the strategy. First to 21 points wins. The second game we played I ended a round with 20 points and was confident in my win next round. Then I won 10 tricks giving making me ''greedy'', scoring 0 VP! Meanwhile my wife drew equal to me at 20 VP. The next round was happily tense and I scraped a win! Despite the amazing artwork, there's not much theme to the game, but (heretic that I am) I don't need heavy theme to get into a game. . #boardgameart #twoplayergames #boardgamecouple #bbg #boardgamegeek #playmoregames #tabletopgaming #cardgame #cardboardaddiction #boardgamejunkie #boardgames #fairytale #fantasyart #analoguegames #analoggames #tricktakinggame #tricktaking

Game Night with my friends from the #HammerGames group. Learned to play #ChampionsOfMidgard, with the expansions. This was followed up with a game of #ViticultureEssentialEdition. It was a #workerplacement kind of night. #tabletopgaming #boardgames #BGG #BoardGameGeek #gamenight #analoggames #cardboardaddiction #GreyFoxGames #StonemaierGames

I missed yesterday's #madelocalmonth It was "finishing touch". My finishing touch is my packaging. I use reclaimed and found materials to make almost all of my packaging. I have a wired love of cardboard and boxes. Making my own boxes is my therapy. This is proof again that I need to get out more. #helpme #shopsmall #etsylancashire #cardboardaddiction #supportlivingartists

Nearly there!! Our table is currently in the dining room as we don't yet have a dining table, but it will eventually go in here to finish the room 😁

Alright, let's discuss Noria for a moment. It was one of the most anticipated game from Essen, without a doubt. It looks gorgeous and the action wheels are very intriguing, to say the least. I played two games in the same day. I did not really enjoy my first game, so I figured I'd try it again to confirm my thoughts. Overall, the action wheels are, indeed, very interesting. You have to build it to be as efficient as possible, which is not as simple as it might seem. Other than that, the game is a plain and flat euro. I'd go as far as to say that it's pretty boring, actually. There is minimal player interaction. We even played with the advanced version where all the islands are already out and you can only move to the islands connecting to the one your governor is on. But still, it was very restrictive and not really engaging. Overall, Noria did not live up to the hype its look creates. It's gonna be a hard pass for me from now on...
