As requested by gianneorillosa Comment below if you have any other food breakdown requests. Pinto Beans are virtually a fat-free high quality source of Protein. They’re also very cheap. 1 cup or 170g of Pinto Beans contains approximately 31g of carbs, 16g of protein, and 1g of fat. For the record, 1 cup of Kidney beans has 28g of carbs, 14g of protein and 2g of fat (I know the stats are close but its still cool to see which is the best 😅). In terms of micronutrients, they’re packed full of iron and folate (45% of daily iron requirements). If anyone struggles to get enough iron in a day, try including a portion of pinto beans 👌They’re also a great source of fiber. I normal eat a lot of kidney beans, but I’m going to try to incorporate Pinto Beans more into my diet, to help with those vegan gains.
