For example, I spent years of my life doing the same types of workouts, but my physique and physical abilities never improved, and I was plagued with training-related injuries. Hello! that's a huge red flag that something was horribly amiss.⠀ ⠀ Here's what's working well for me: ⠀ ⠀ •I question #WHY I do things (I think about the long-term benefits instead of being seduced by instant gratification)⠀ •I'm making a daily effort to recognize and ditch behaviour patterns that are holding me back ⠀ •I'm willing to figure things out for myself by experimenting⠀ •I am much kinder to myself when I make mistakes⠀ •I try to find value in my mistakes. Mistakes and setbacks are clues that will help us become better humans.⠀ •I'm acknowledging my daily wins⠀ •I'm coachable. I listen and then try.⠀ ⠀ I like the person I'm becoming. The way I train has completely changed me mentally and physically. I train to fix the weak links in my body so that I can move well in life. Never in a million years did I think I would become as strong as I am today ... all because I learned how to balance my body physically and mentally. I'm excitied to continue my StrongFit journey, but I'm even more excited to teach it to others because I believe in it with every fibre of my being.⠀ ⠀ I'd love to help you step outside your comfort zone so that you can grow in ways you never thought possible. Geezus, Karen, we talked about this! #Repost syattfitness with get_repost ・・・ 🦄The thing about your cousin Rick, co-worker Karen, roommate Kevin, and carpool buddy Sue is they have absolutely no fucking clue what in the literal fuck they are talking about. - ☕️It doesn’t matter if Karen’s lost 20lbs in the last 3 weeks because odds are she’s starving herself, and that type of weight loss is completely unsustainable long-term. - 🦄It’s irrelevant if Kevin says your workout program is stupid because he has no formal education in strength & conditioning, and taking CrossFit for 3 months doesn’t make him an expert. - ☕️No matter how convincing she says it, Sue’s newest detox cleanse is not, “omg, literally, magic” nor will it speed up your metabolism. And her HIIT workout won’t “shock” your body. You don’t want to “shock” your body. Exercise is enough without likening it to subjecting yourself to electric fucking shocks. - 🦄Listen. - ☕️I love magic and Harry Potter and fantasy and all that stuff. So much so, I truly believe my acceptance letter to Hogwarts is just running a few late and will arrive any day now. - 🦄But this magical fitness malarkey about “boosting your metabolism” and “shocking your body” is a massive, steaming pile of beep boop that means and does, literally, nothing. - ☕️If you think your metabolism is slow because you’re doing all the “right” things and still aren’t losing weight...you’re eating too much. If you think you need a new workout to “shock” your body because you aren’t seeing muscle definition...you probably need to be more consistent with one program and focus on lifting heavier weights. - 🦄Point being, don’t fall for the hype. Don’t let anyone lead you astray. Hit your calories. Hit your protein. Lift heavy shit. Have lots of sex. Drink a butt load of unicorn magic (☕️). And tell Karen to eff off. Rinse. Wash.
