Planks ALL DAY! I remember the first year I ran track in high school (and only year) was the first time I was told to hold a plank for 60 seconds. I remember my arms shaking and looking around at my teammates trying not to be the first one to drop. I absolutely hated it. It is physically hard to hold a plank for long periods of time but mentally it is an even bigger struggle. I don’t remember that day because physically I could do it. I remember that day because mentally I couldn’t. Now I love them. I overcame that mental struggle. In the big scale of life this is just a small victory, but it was one step closer to building my mental strength and confidence. Now go do some planks. Your core will thank you. One trick I use is singing the ABCs in my head.

Happy Thursday!! Day 24/80 went down today!! Abs, arms & 🍑 are spent!! And I gotta be straight, I was kind of on the struggle bus 🚌 with some of the moves, and I wasn’t able to do quite the weight the group was doing!! 😬😬😬 And I found myself in a little bit of a comparison game with everyone else doing the workout!! I started to feel frustrated that I wasn’t lifting as heavy... That maybe I wouldn’t see the same results. And I completely (at least initially), missed the fact that, even though I wasn’t lifting as heavy as everyone else in the program, I WAS lifting heavier than I had lifted the previous week! Woo Hoo!! That’s progress for ME!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Truth Bomb Moment: Your only competition is YOU!! You can’t compare your workout, your strength or your progress to anyone else. They are not on your journey. Only you are on your journey. Stay positive with yourself, even through the struggles! Love yourself for showing up! And give yourself positive affirmations that you can and will succeed!! Your success begins in your mind! Today tell yourself you are strong, worthy, successful, confident and MAKING PROGRESS‼️ Just pushing play is already a win!! When you look yourself in the mirror, tell yourself you can do this... it gives you positive energy ✨. Tell yourself you can do☝️ more rep, lift a few pounds heavier, and hold that plank until the end!! Tell yourself that your nutrition will be on point! And tell yourself that you can do hard things!!
