Back in CO after 6 weeks. We visited a vineyard in the south of France, Toulouse, Nice, Milan, Zurich, Dijon, and Paris. It was dreamy, but it’s good to be home. 😌 and eating my normal food! Like this bowl of Greek yogurt, sautéed lemon kale, roasted butternut squash, a 6-minute egg, flaky sea salt, sumac, & black sesame seeds.

Fell asleep to the lovely smell of rosemary and thyme chicken broth simmering away in the crockpot and woke up to this loveliness. ❤️ - This is officially my current food obsession. 😂 - Can’t wait to try my venison bones!! Enjoying some “guacamama” like a big girl. Mixing first foods with breast milk allows for better absorption and a familiar taste. Babies can sustain the first year on breast milk, and most foods in the first year are just for fun (and some additional iron and fat). This ad from 1943 (not too long ago) proclaims that Vitamin D—from high quality cod liver oil—“will help children develop a well proportional framework.” About 70+ years ago (think, our grandparents) knew to give cod liver oil to babies and children because of the vitamin D AND vitamin A found in this super food. It is still true today that a daily dose of cod liver oil should be a regular practice. I follow thehealthyhomeeconomist suggestion of following 1/2 teaspoon of fermented cod liver oil (FCLO) with 1/2 teaspoon of elderberry syrup. 'Tis the season to be prepared with snacks at all times! If you get hangry, temptations are literally around EVERY corner. Here are a few of my favourite snacks to keep on hand or in my bag on bustling days.  1.
