Marilyn Monroe leaving Douglas Kirkland's studio on November 17th, 1961. He worked for “Look” magazine who prepared a special issue for its 25th birthday. He had already taken photos of Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland and Shirley Mac Laine. He met with Marilyn 3 times. The first time, on Wednesday the 15th of November.  Kirkland went to her home with 2 assistants. A second time, 2 days later, on Friday 17th of November. Where the picture session took place, at John Engstead’s studio, on Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood. For that occasion Agnes Flanagan did her hair and Whitey Snyder did her make-up. Kirkland also came 2 days after the session, on Sunday the 19th of November, when Kirkland came to show the proofs.
