As if front squats already didn’t burn enough. My “friend” shliz_fit had the bright idea and convinced me to add a pulse to each rep. Talk about 🔥🔥. Physical pain is something I’ve grown accustomed to over the years. Between 4 foot surgeries, back injuries, hip injuries and other bumps and bruises, not much causes me to quit. . Lately my right foot has been giving me all sorts of trouble. The doc wants me to come in next week so she can get another look at it. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a bit nervous. I’m nervous that she’s going to see something she doesn’t like and need to go back in there. Because right now it’s a different, new kinda “hurt” that has me worried. . But if there’s anything I’ve learned over the years with battling physical pain is that it’s relative. For me personally, I know what I can handle and how to work around it. I know I’ll figure it out. . What about you? Do you know your limits and how to work around them? Do you know how to persevere? Leta work on that together.

The Reality of Running Blog Series Day 147: . HI, Hello – I F!$? # hate rest days. . I know they are necessary. I know they are needed and that is why I do them, but when I do not workout – my entire day is backwards. . Today was a planned rest day – so I was prepared mentally for it, BUT – I still hate them. . Last night was a late one because life happens. We were out until after 9 and then I had every intention to go to the grocery store for dinner, but that didn’t happen at 9PM….. so what did we do? . We at mac and cheese for dinner and went to sleep. It was Annie’s organic and it was portioned out, but we cheated in a sense because again – that is the reality of life. Shit doesn’t always go as planned. . Ironically – this morning on my rest day – I woke up and weighed myself. I am officially down 12 pounds, checking in at 158. WOW….. . Ha – becoming a chameleon – adapting to what life throws at me has been my mantra lately. . Moral of this blog post is that no one is perfect, I do eat mac and cheese, I do have nights where I don’t sleep well and I do take rest days even though I hate them … one thing I don’t do though, is give up. . Healthy Egg Muffin Cups {Meal Prep Idea!}⠀ Prep Time⠀ 10 mins⠀ Cook Time⠀ 20 mins⠀ Total Time: 30 mins⠀ ⠀ Servings: 6 cups ⠀ Ingredients⠀ 1/2 dozen eggs⠀ Choose from any of the following:⠀ kale chopped⠀ baby spinach chopped⠀ tomatoes diced⠀ onions finely chopped⠀ red bell peppers finely chopped⠀ green peppers finely chopped⠀ mushrooms finely chopped⠀ goat cheese crumbled⠀ basil finely chopped⠀ mozzarella cheese shredded⠀ salt and pepper to taste (other seasonings too like oregano or garlic powder!)nstructions⠀ Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a nonstick muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.⠀ Whisk the eggs in a bowl. Place 2-3 items from the list above into each tin. You can customize each muffin cup however you'd like! Pour the egg mixture on top, leaving 1/4" from the top.⠀ Bake for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean for each frittata. Remove from oven. Use a knife to go around the edges and pop out the egg cups. What's the difference between motivation and discipline? Motivation is lost, while discipline is practiced. - Some days are harder than others to work up the motivation to go train. It's human nature to not be able to (easily) inflict pain on ourselves. But it's all a mental game, really! What I've come to realize is that it's less about motivation, and more about discipline. It's doing what you know needs to be done today, to get where you want to be tomorrow ... even when it's hard, exhausting and painful. - On a different note, I don’t usually post videos of my workouts for a few different reasons. 1) it’s difficult and downright awkward to figure out appropriate angles that still showcase the movement. 2) In no way, shape or form do I look cute (or even decent for that matter) while I’m working out!!! 3) I have to video the movements after my workout is complete, resuting in pretty rickity form! Otherwise, I get distracted and end up losing the momentum in my workout. In turn, my training session suffers! Now, that being said, I have decided to start posting more of my workouts. Whenever I feel that I’m unmotivated or dreading my workout, I turn to social media and find multiple daily workouts posted. It gets something stirring inside me. I start to think, “I am strong, I am healthy, I am able. I have no reason, nor do I desire one, to not get up and get moving. And I do in fact have multiple reasons to get going!!! If they can find the discipline to get it done, so can I!” Point is, social media is a great tool for finding and serving motivation. And I want to be a part of both! Even if my videos can help just one person, it’d make it all worth it! - Also, I promise to improve my video skills!!! - As mentioned earlier, these clips are after my workout and a bit rough around the edges, so please go easy on me! Workout is as follows: Superset #1: 4 x 10 goblet squats 15 side cable kicks 4 x 10 weighted glute bridges Superset #2: 3 x 10 straight leg dead lifts 10 step up + leg raise Superset #3: 3 x 12 weighted single leg glute bridge 15 frog thrusts 4 x 10-12 drop set leg extensions BURNOUT: 25 leg lift cross overs (each leg) - I’m going to bed now! #duespaid
